Agarwood: More expensive than gold, nourish the heart and calm the mind | Guang Ming Daily Interview

Mr. Zeng Shiqiang once said: ''The path we take and the choices we make in life are all predetermined. A noble person enjoys knowing their destiny, and only by finding their destiny and the path of their life's journey can they feel that their life is meaningful.''

 

''Destiny'' refers to the predetermined plan for your life, and your mission is to discover it. When a person finds their ''destiny,'' it means they have found their true calling. Therefore, it is never wrong to move towards a direction that you are passionate about and feel good about.

 

Ten years ago, I devoted all my time and effort to promoting agarwood, quietly toiling away to connect directly with end customers and taking a different approach from the traditional method of only selling agarwood raw materials to incense makers. As a result, my customers over the past decade are no longer just buyers, but rather, they are friends and acquaintances who share a love for agarwood.

 

Discovering one's destiny means that if I hadn't specialized in agarwood, I wouldn't have known that my sense of smell is particularly sensitive to discerning the quality of agarwood.

 

Initially, I tried making many different types of agarwood products out of interest and passion. However, in the blink of an eye, ten years have passed, and I still maintain that initial drive to use genuine materials to create high-quality incense products as a way to repay both new and old customers.

 

Because I have always believed that those who come to me to buy agarwood are knowledgeable about it or have a particularly keen sense of smell, even those who may not fully understand agarwood can identify the purity of our products in comparison to those in the market. Some customers even say that they have only truly smelled agarwood after experiencing our authentic and pure agarwood products.

 

In recent years, agarwood has gradually entered the public's view, and Guangming Daily published an interview with a long-established agarwood brand in Penang in its 25th May 2022.
